Skoda’s popular Kushaq SUV and Slavia sedan have been upgraded with additional safety features in their MY2024 editions, featuring six airbags as standard – making them among the safest cars in their segment. These updates form part of Skoda India 2.0 strategy to make its cars more affordable.
The Slavia and Kushaq compete with Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Volkswagen Virtus and Maruti Ciaz among others. Both cars use a 1.0-litre three-cylinder TSI petrol engine paired with either a six-speed manual or seven-speed DSG automatic transmission; their top-spec Style variants now also boast features such as powered front seats and illuminated footwells previously only found on Signature or Prestige grades.
Both models provide a large 25.4 cm touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility, along with driver assist systems such as a rearview camera, parking assistant and adaptive cruise control. However, it should be noted that the Slavia has superior boot space compared to Kushaq, as well as taller seating that facilitates ingress/egress. Furthermore, its design and dimensions extend further than Kushaq.
