Bajaj Motor has released a new variant of its Chetak electric scooter: 2901 Blue Line – available in five colours with an updated front decal – that sits below Urbane and Premium variants when it comes to price and feature lists, competing against similar offerings like Ampere Nexus ST, Ather 450S, TVS iQube (3.4kWh) and Ola S1 Air models.

Chetak models come equipped with an LCD instrument console and Economy riding mode. If you require additional features, upgrading to the TecPac variant for Rs 3,000 more provides additional riding modes such as hill hold, reverse mode and Follow Me Home lights.Bajaj Chetak 2901

Other standard features on the scoot include self-cancelling blinkers, left and right control switches and an electronic handle lock. In addition, LED headlamps with auto-on/off functionality and capable of reaching speeds of 63kmph. Furthermore, it features trailing link front suspension with drum brakes on both ends as well as trailing link front suspension and drum brakes for both ends for added safety.

The 2901 Blue Line scooter is equipped with a 2.88kWh Li-ion battery and electric motor to offer an estimated ARAI range of 123km on one charge, with Urbane and Premium variants using 2.96kWh and 3.2kWh batteries respectively for optimal performance. Acceleration up to 63kmph takes 6 hours with safety features such as broken neutral detection, voltage and current surge isolation and automatic earth detection available as standard features.

The Bajaj Chetak 2901 Blue Line, as its name suggests, is the most cost-effective variant in its Chetak lineup at Rs 95,998 ex-showroom; this new model can be purchased through over 500 Bajaj dealerships nationwide.

Similar to its Urbane and Premium models, the new Chetak 2901 Blue Line is powered by an IP67 rated lithium-ion battery pack of 2.9kWh capacity delivering power directly to a direct drive motor. With an ARAI certified range of 123km on one charge and top speeds reaching up to 63kmph with optional TecPac support – or up to 73kmph by adding more batteries!

Chetak 2901 models also feature a colour LCD instrument console, self-cancelling blinkers, left and right control switches, electronic handle lock, seat opening switch as standard features; while its TecPac counterpart adds an additional riding mode called Sports in addition to other benefits.

Chetak 2901 Blue Line comes standard in five colors – Red, Black, White, Lime Yellow and Azure Blue. Buyers can upgrade with an OptiPac which unlocks two riding modes (Eco and Sport), hill hold assist, reverse mode as well as other features – for an additional Rs 3,000 premium. The Bajaj Auto Chetak 2901 Blue Line scooter will retail for Rs 95,998 (ex-showroom and inclusive of EMPS subsidy but excluding state subsidy), and will go on sale beginning June 15. This price competes directly with that of TVS iQube 2.2 kWh and Ola Electric scooters while offering on-road prices comparable to petrol scooters. Eric Vas, President of Urbanite at Bajaj Auto said that this product was designed and priced to attract consumers making the switch from petrol scooters or bikes.

The scooter will come in an assortment of bold colours – Red, White, Black, Lime Yellow and Azure Blue – featuring its metal body and colour digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity. A separate upgrade for Rs 3,000 unlocks features like Hill Hold, Sport Economy Reverse ride modes as well as call and music control, follow me home lights and an off-board charger.

The Chetak 2901 will feature a direct drive motor, offering top speeds of 63kmph and ranges of 123 km. Bajaj Chetak Blue Line variant is priced at Rs 95,998 (ex-showroom), making it Bajaj’s most budget-conscious e-scooter offering. It sits between the Urbane and Premium models in terms of pricing and will go head-to-head against offerings from Ather, TVS, Ola S1 Air and other competitors in its class.

It features an ample 2.88kWh battery that offers an ARAI-certified range of 123km and can reach top speeds up to 63km/h, as well as a colour LCD and alloy wheels for added functionality.
