Aakash Chopra | Saba Karim Warns India Against Kohli

Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul are widely recognized as India’s T20 side’s strongest batting trio; however, in recent months they have failed to perform up to their potential. With 2022 T20 World Cup just around the corner, former India wicket keeper-batter Saba Karim suggested that selectors hold tough conversations with these players if their performances do not improve in due time.

Rohit Sharma made an impressive return from an inconsistent IPL run to dominate Day 1 of England vs India Test match at Dharamsala. Alongside Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rohit opened his batting alongside Karim believes Rohit stands out in white-ball cricket but that the challenges of Test cricket suit his game more.

Karim suggested that India captain Virat Kohli must work on improving his strike rate to be successful across all three formats of cricket. Furthermore, Karim commended Kohli’s leadership skills and mentioned how effectively he can guide youngsters such as Jaiswal and Ishan Kishan.

Karim added that selectors should give Kohli enough rest in order to regain his form before forcing him to play against Zimbabwe, and should refrain from informing Kohli he won’t make the T20 World Cup squad if he doesn’t travel there.

Aakash Chopra | Irfan Pathan Warns India Against Yashasvi Jaiswal

Former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan has given Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Virat Kohli his endorsement as top batsmen for Team India at this year’s World Cup tournament. Pathan took to Twitter and praised these three individuals for the damage they can do for India in this tournament.

Left-hander Rohit Sharma suggested Jaiswal as Rohit’s opening partner; however, in a warm-up game against Bangladesh Sanju Samson was chosen instead of Jaiswal and this has caused widespread debate as to his inclusion in the main event lineup – potentially pushing Rishabh Pant into becoming number three instead.

Pathan suggests that India could address their bowling handicap by recruiting Jaiswal as both spin and fast-medium bowler. He explained how Rohit and Kohli’s inability to bowl make India’s batting line-up handicapped; adding Jaiswal could help alleviate this problem.Aakash Chopra

He recommended that Rahul Dravid explore the options presented by Jaiswal as Pathan believes he will flourish on Indian surfaces. After having struggled in South African Test series, the 20-year-old Jaiswal found success playing for Rajasthan Royals against South Africa despite this not being his natural habitat. Pathan noted how Jaiswal provides India with another bowling option since he regularly bowls at Rajasthan Royals nets during IPL matches; something Pathan noted could help them overcome Ireland and advance to knockout stage matches.
