With 577 horsepower and premium appointments, the $275,000 2024 Mercedes-AMG SL 63 Manufaktur Golden Coast Special Edition represents automotive indulgence at its finest. Its unique paint and interior reflect California sunsets which inspired it as part of its name.
The special edition takes advantage of Mercedes’ in-house Manufaktur customization program, which provides greater exterior and interior adjustments than standard production lines. It comes in Orange Flame Metallic paint and sports black brake calipers and 21-inch AMG wheels for an impressive finish.

AMG is using this special edition model as a showcase of their Manufaktur program, which enables customers to customize their vehicles through an extensive range of exterior and interior colors and finishes, with more exacting quality standards than those applied during standard production lines. This special edition SL63 wears eye-catching Orange Flame Metallic paint reminiscent of California sunsets; additional highlights include an AMG Exterior Chrome Package, black brake calipers, and 21-inch black wheels completing its look.
The interior of the SL63 MANUFAKTUR Golden Coast Special Edition matches its exterior color scheme perfectly, featuring hand-stitched Mystic Red/Black Nappa leather with orange contrast stitching. Diamond quilted perforations in AMG Performance seats add another luxurious element, as does kalahari gold accented backrest trim and diamond quilted perforations on diamond perforated AMG Performance seats; further adding to this luxurious cabin experience are AMG Performance steering wheels and deep pile floor mats emblazoned with AMG logos on deep pile floor mats that complete its luxurious journey.
For further accentuating the handcrafted nature of its SL63 MANUFAKTUR Golden Coast model, AMG added orange stitching on various components such as steering wheel, armrest, center door panels and lower instrument panel – as well as AMG-embossed floor mats and an enclosed cubby in the center console.
Like its exterior counterpart, the interior’s atmosphere aims to reflect Big Sur sunsets with splashes of orange on the dashboard, door card inlays and center console storage compartment lid; hand-stitched black and red Nappa leather contour seats feature orange piping and contrast stitching; plus there’s even a Burmester High-End 3D surround sound system available!
Mercedes-Benz plans to release more Manufaktur special editions based on the SL-Class over time; AMG plans on expanding this program in 2024 to cover their SL lineup as well.
Although this SL-63 features numerous special touches, it remains a powerful roadster powered by its same 585hp 4.0L V8 biturbo engine as other SL-Class models. Coupled with AMG’s 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive system for surefooted performance that can reach 60mph in just 3.6 seconds!

MANUFAKTUR Orange Flame Metallic paint is applied by hand at the dedicated MANUFAKTUR line, and features black brake calipers, soft top and 21-inch AMG forged wheels painted kalahari gold. Mercedes-Benz also offered an Interior Package option that adds MANUFAKTUR exclusive nappa leather upholstery in seven colors: Classic Red, Mystic Red, Rose Gray, Savannah Beige, Tobacco Brown Yacht Blue and Shadow Green. Black nappa leather is enhanced by orange contrast stitching that matches AMG logo on headrests while active multicontour seats feature massage functions and seat coolers while driver side panel has special fabric with contrasting woven pattern for additional visual interest.Special Edition
The MANUFAKTUR program debuted earlier this year and allows buyers to customize their vehicles by selecting unique paint colors and leather upholsteries. This gorgeous color covers not only the bodywork of the roadster but also its interior trim elements. Additionally, its 21-inch AMG wheels come in matte black with dual-color rim and hub caps; additionally they’re accented by black brake calipers bearing white AMG logos to perfectly complement its exterior paint finish.
Apart from its distinct color, the SL 63 Manufaktur Golden Coast Special Edition also boasts numerous premium upgrades. These include AMG Night Package Exterior II which replaces traditional chrome with gloss black for elements such as A-wings, front splitters, air intakes/outlets/mirror caps/side sill trim/rear diffuser. Furthermore, iconic three-star emblems, grille panel trim and badges of this edition come clad in black chrome to complete its luxurious appearance.
