Tata Altroz Racer
Tata Motors unveiled the Altroz Racer at this year’s Auto Expo as its sportiest hatchback option. Additionally, this car made another appearance at this year’s Bharat Mobility Global Expo and is expected to go on sale by June 2024.
The Altroz Racer will feature a powerful 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine taken from the Nexon. This engine produces 118 bhp and 170 Nm of torque to provide an exhilarating driving experience.

The Altroz Racer will utilize a 1.2-litre petrol engine similar to that found in the Nexon, and produce 118 BHP and 170 Nm of torque – power will then be distributed via manual transmission directly to its front wheels.
Racer will feature features like ventilated front seats, head-up display and 360-degree camera for optimal driving experiences. In addition, an automated parking aid will make navigating congested areas simpler and safer while its seat belt warning will emit loud beeps when front seat occupants fail to wear their seat belts properly.
Tata Altroz Racer Engine
The Racer Edition of the Altroz is expected to gain an extra power boost over its standard sibling thanks to a more potent engine. Tata Motors plans on equipping this hatchback with a 1.2-litre turbo petrol unit producing 120bhp and 170Nm, similar to what can be found on its Nexon SUV; thus making this version of their car the fastest hatchback available from them.

Tata Altroz Racer is an upgraded variant of its existing Altroz hatchback that first debuted at Auto Expo 2023 and will launch next month in India. Offering a sportier alternative than its standard hatchback counterparts such as Hyundai i20 N Line and Maruti Fronx in performance hatchback market segment, Tata Altroz Racer competes with Hyundai i20 N Line and Maruti Fronx models in this performance hatchback segment.
The new Racer version boasts a sporty exterior that stands out on the road with its bright orange shade, accented by black elements such as roof, ORVMs and pillars. Furthermore, dual white racing stripes will adorn its hood and roof; plus it will come equipped with an unique grille design containing black surround and Racer badge on it – while at its rear a prominent diffuser provides downforce at high speeds to enhance stability.
Under its hood, the Altroz Racer will boast the same 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbo petrol engine used by Tata’s Nexon compact SUV. This powertrain delivers 120hp and 170 Nm of torque and comes equipped with a six-speed manual gearbox; fans of driving will appreciate Tata’s commitment to an engaging driving experience through manual gearboxes like this.
Other highlights of this car include an electric sunroof featuring a shark fin antenna, ventilated seats, wireless charging capability, as well as driver assistance systems such as hill assist, traction control, and cruise control.

Racer will feature six airbags to provide maximum protection to its occupants, similar to how standard Altroz models received 5-star Global NCAP ratings; its Racer counterpart should follow suit in terms of safety features.
