Ameesha Patel made her cinematic debut with Kaho Naa Pyar Hai in 2000 and immediately made headlines across the country for blending Indian and western fashion styles together into something truly iconic.

Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, which she co-starred with Sunny Deol, proved a box office hit. Additionally, Abbas-Mustan’s romance Kya Yehi Pyaar Hai opposite Aftab Shivdasani also saw success at the box office.

Hrithik Roshan created much hysteria with his debut film Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai in 2000, giving Ameesha Patel a platform to demonstrate her acting talent. Ameesha Patel quickly earned fame for her beauty and grace on-screen as well as her ability to portray different emotions throughout roles with ease.

Ameesha loves dressing up for films and she recently posted an eye-catching leggy pic to Instagram that served as perfect summer-ready inspiration.

Pictured in white, she looked absolutely breathtaking. She has appeared in hit films such as Gadar, Race 2, Humraz and more; as well as being involved with Sunny Deol’s forthcoming project.

Ameesha Patel has collaborated with an impressive list of stars in Bollywood including Aamir Khan, Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt. Additionally, she has featured in movies like Satish Kaushik’s thriller Vaada and Ketan Mehta’s historical drama Mangal Pandey: The Rising.

Gadar: Ek Prem Katha was where she found most renown. This movie depicting India’s partition starred Sunny Deol as Tara Singh and Ameesha Patel as Sakina – it became an enormous box office success and is currently celebrating its 20th anniversary.

To mark this special event, the makers re-released the movie. Sunny Deol unveiled a motion poster of it on his Instagram account; featuring himself and Ameesha Patel in their iconic roles. A sequel will also see Deol, Patel and Utkarsh Sharma returning as Utkarsh Sharma plays their on-screen son Utkarsh Sharma.

Ameesha excels at playing high-stakes games of deception, betrayal and revenge where she proves herself as one of the finest performers worldwide. Her remarkable performance leaves audiences worldwide speechless.

Ameesha went on to star in several unsuccessful films at the box office; however, in 2004 she made her breakthrough appearance in Mere Jeevan Saathi (musical romance). Production on this movie was delayed for some time until Patel’s then-partner Vikram Bhatt took control of its production.

Ameesha also appeared in a comedy film, Kranti, alongside Akshay Kumar and Bobby Deol. As Sanjana in Kranti, Ameesha once again impressed audiences with her powerful performance. Additionally, during this period she took part in numerous stage shows and worldwide tours.

This film chronicles Mangal Pandey, an Indian soldier in the British East India Company Army who led India’s first war of independence against British rule in 1857 when the East India Company controlled over one-fifth of world population while mistreating and exploiting its subjects.

Patel and Gordon save Jwala (portrayed by Ameesha), from committing Sati. Afterward, the two begin an intimate relationship which turns romantic. Pandey angers Captain Hewson by stopping him from beating an Indian servant who inadvertently touched one of his employer women’s daughters; later discovering that Hewson and her brother have made arrangements for Jwala to be sold into prostitution.

Barrackpore Mutiny was the catalyst for an entire Indian rebellion against the Company, although its execution may have some issues such as poor acting or questionable historical accuracy. Still, watching this film provides a fascinating look into an eventful period from an Indian point of view.

Patel began her acting career with a string of box office failures but found success with Priyadarshan’s horror comedy Bhool Bhulaiyaa. Starring alongside Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan and Shiney Ahuja in this flick which proved moderately profitable at the box office.

Ameesha’s next release was the drama-thriller Jodi Breakers with Sunny Deol, which proved both commercially and critically successful. Ameesha received much-deserved recognition and praise for her performance.

Ameesha then appeared in Abbas-Mustan’s Race 2, an action thriller which brought her together with John Abraham and Bipasha Basu from their previous collaboration in Gadar: Ek Prem Katha.

Ameesha Patel sent her fans an early birthday greeting on April 8. Surrounded by all her co-stars from Shortcut Romeo on her special day, Ameesha shared in cutting her cake together while they all sang a happy birthday song to her.

She took to social media to post photos from her party, with guests such as Neil Nitin Mukesh, Evelyn Sharma, Sahil Shroff, Ravi Kissen and Zayed Khan present.

Ameesha Patel Productions is currently filming her next feature with Mehul Atha, entitled Desi Magic, set for release this summer. Ameesha is shooting in several scenic European locations while working closely with Kuunal Goomer and Shammli who serve as production house partners on this production house-backed film project.
