Hypermotard 698 Mono
Ducati has opened bookings for its Hypermotard 698 Mono ahead of its India launch on 22 December 2023. First shown at an unveiling event in November, this bike marks Ducati’s first single-cylinder motorcycle since 30 years.
This bike was created with an elegant yet purposeful aesthetic in mind and boasts an LED headlight with a long beak underneath, slim fuel tank, sleek side and tail sections, ride-by-wire technology and Bosch cornering ABS as well as rider traction and wheelie control capabilities among other things.
Hypermotard 698 Mono Price
The Hypermotard 698 Mono is powered by a liquid-cooled, Desmodromic valve actuated Superquadro single that displaces 659cc and produces 77.5hp at 9,750rpm and 64Nm of torque. When coupled with the optional Termignoni race exhaust it produces even more power and torque; additionally the bike features a 6-speed transmission with longer first gear specifically designed to take advantage of available power in slow turns; its electronics package also includes Ducati Quick Shift Up & Down; Ride by Wire features as well as Bosch cornering BAS cornering BAS cornering BAS; wheelie control; engine brake control as well as four riding modes;
At just 151 kg without fuel, it’s an extremely lightweight motorcycle for its class, thanks to a lightweight trellis frame weighing only 7.2kg and Marzocchi 45mm forks that shed another 7.1kg. A Sachs rising-rate monoshock handles rear suspension duties while its 26.1 degrees of rake and 4.2 inches of trail make for an ergonomic ride experience similar to KTM 690 SMC R, Husqvarna 701 Supermoto, or GasGas SM 700 counterparts.
Hypermotard 698 Mono Engine
The Ducati Hypermotard 698 Mono is the Italian brand’s entry into street-legal supermoto category, and features an outstanding array of rider aids. These include lean angle sensitive wheelie control (four levels plus off), traction control and engine brake control; four riding modes and three power modes can all be easily accessed using its 3.8″ LCD display screen.
At the core of this bike is a 659cc Desmodromic single-cylinder Superquadro engine. Producing 77.5bhp at 9,750rpm and 63 Nm at 8,000rpm – making it one of the world’s most powerful single-cylinder engines; an optional Termignoni race exhaust can increase these figures to 84.5bhp and 67Nm respectively.
The engine of this bike is coupled to a six-speed transmission and features Marzocchi USD forks in front and Sachs monoshock at the rear, riding on 17″ wheels with tubeless tires and 17-inch RVE variants sporting graffiti-inspired liveries and bidirectional quickshifters; pricing for both models start at $12,995 while RVE versions cost $14,495 MSRP respectively.
Hypermotard 698 Mono Transmission
Ducati’s new single-cylinder hooligan bike uses a six-speed transmission with slip-and-assist clutch for easier riding. The RVE variant comes standard with quickshifter capability while base models may upgrade with one by paying extra.
The Mono features a 659cc Superquadro Mono engine which produces 77.5 horsepower at 9,750rpm and 63Nm of torque at 8000rpm – making it one of the most powerful single-cylinder engines available worldwide. Utilizing Desmodromic valve actuation, titanium intake valves, an oval section throttle body and Desmodromic valve actuation for better engine management; optional Termignoni race exhaust can further boost power and torque to 84.5bhp and 67Nm respectively.
This engine is combined with a Desmodromic double-sided swingarm and Marzocchi upside-down fork, both designed to maximize stiffness while minimising weight. Furthermore, the Mono features a slim fuel tank with twin upswept exhaust pipes located directly under its tailpiece in true Hypermotard fashion; 17-inch front and 17-inch rear Y-shaped 5-spoke alloy wheels sporting Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tyres; while its 3.8-inch LCD display keeps track of all essential information while riding through thrilling adventures!
Hypermotard 698 Mono Design
The new Ducati Hypermotard 698 Mono is an elegant scaled-down version of its larger sibling, boasting a purposeful design to evoke street fighting style. At its forefront is an LED headlight equipped with DRLs and slim fuel tank; further along, both side and tail sections have been artfully joined for an aesthetically pleasing, finished appearance.
The Hypermotard 698 Mono features a lightweight trellis frame which helps keep its dry weight to just 151 kg, including four riding modes and Marzocchi fork and Sachs rising-rate shock suspension, each end fully adjustable for optimal rider control. In terms of electronics features, there’s ride-by-wire, Bosch cornering ABS, traction control, wheelie control and engine brake control as part of an electronics package that keeps weight at bay – with four riding modes to keep things interesting!

Ducati first unveiled their single-cylinder motorcycle model, the Hypermotard 698 Mono, in November 2023. Aiming to draw Indian bike enthusiasts in, Ducati created an aggressive yet premium design to attract attention with this motorcycle.

Ducati’s Power Launch technology enables riders to start their engines instantly with just one push of the throttle, with three levels of power delivery available and compatible with each of its four riding modes (Sport, Road Urban Wet).
The Hypermotard 698 Mono is equipped with a 6-speed gearbox and the Ducati Quick Shift up and down system for effortless gear shifts. Furthermore, this motorcycle boasts Bosch cornering ABS, ride-by-wire controls, traction control, wheelie control and engine brake control as standard features, while optionally fitting with a Termignoni race exhaust will increase performance further.
