Axar Patel
Axar Patel was an exceptional wicket-taker for Kings XI Punjab (now Delhi Capitals) during IPL 2014, taking 17 wickets across 16 matches in his debut season to lead them all the way to victory and reach the final.
He was promoted to the Test squad for the 2021 home series against New Zealand, playing both matches and showing great ability with bat – scoring half-century in second match!
Axar Patel He is a left-arm orthodox spinner
Axar Patel, born January 20 1994 in Anand, Gujarat and began playing all three cricket formats since his childhood in Anand, he has always had a keen passion for cricket; inspired by his club-level cricketer father (he inspired Axar to take up cricket). Axar made his first-class debut for Gujarat in 2012 before going on to have an outstanding Ranji Trophy season the following year which led him to be signed by IPL franchise Mumbai Indians ahead of 2014. However, due to injury he did not get an opportunity to debut in 2014.
In 2014, Axar joined Kings XI Punjab for the Indian Premier League (IPL). Following an outstanding campaign with them and his debut against Bangladesh that June, he earned himself an ODI debut against India against Bangladesh at home in June 2015. Axar earned himself selection into India’s squad for 2015 World Cup where his performance earned him an important part of their bowling arsenal ever since.
Indian spinner Ravindra Jadeja made his Test debut against England in February 2021 as Ravindra Jadeja was injured; replacing him was Karun Chandrasekaran who made an immediate impression by picking up five wickets on Test debut – becoming only one of nine Indian spinners ever to do so on debut!
Sanship, Axar’s elder brother and full-stack developer who lives in Kheda near Nadiad, offers him special gestures when Axar scores big or takes wickets by borrowing their neighbor’s projector and showing it on screen!
Axar Patel He is a left-handed batter
Axar Patel, born 2025 in Delhi Capitals and playing for India on the international scene. A left-arm orthodox spinner with impressive accuracy who can also bat lower down the order, Axar made his international debut with India in 2021 and since has taken seven wickets using unconventional angles against batters resulting in consistent, accurate, and highly effective bowling performance.
He began his professional career by being signed by Mumbai Indians ahead of 2013, yet never featured a match before moving on to Kings XI Punjab for 2014 season and enjoying more success with them; leading them to inclusion in the Indian ODI squad against Bangladesh (though only playing one match).
After 39 first-class matches and 27 ODIs against traditional top eight nations, Axar boasts an economy rate of 2.50. His overall ODI economy rate stands at 4.43 and this puts him below India’s overall economy rate. Axar’s success can be largely attributed to his use of weird angles to mislead batters, and has demonstrated this can be equally effective on flat pitches at Test level; though this requires greater fitness standards and mental resilience but Axar is up for the challenge!
Axar Patel He is a left-handed bowler
Axar Patel is a left-arm spinner who has distinguished himself both domestically and internationally. A standout performer in the Indian Premier League, where he achieved history by taking four wickets against now defunct Gujarat Lions for five consecutive balls in 2016 for an IPL hat-trick, Axar also excelled as limited overs bowler able to match up well against top batters of this tournament – and was eventually bought at auction for INR 5 crore by Delhi Capitals during 2019. He continues as their preferred left arm spinner despite not playing every matchup;
Key to his success lies in the exceptional lift he receives on his deliveries, thanks to sharp angles which create flattening effects and force batters into playing spin outside their intended lines. Furthermore, his bowling at high speeds makes it hard for batsmen to play him off his length.
Ganjoo’s study also demonstrated his success when it comes to getting turn with roundarm deliveries. Axar typically took away his ball despite any angle with it turning four degrees – an astounding amount for an arm spinner not using loops or dips; only few bowlers in cricket have managed it with such success! He remains one of few bowlers with this ability using their roundarm action alone.
Axar Patel He is a right-handed batsman
Axar Patel is an influential left-arm spinner with outstanding hitting ability. His performance with both bat and ball was crucial to Delhi Capitals as they defeated Gujarat Titans in their Indian Premier League match on Wednesday, scoring 43-ball 66 to help defend their total of 224 while taking one wicket himself. But Axar believes that all-rounder roles may be under threat with some recent IPL innovations that have divided opinion.
He first joined Mumbai Indians as a reserve during the 2013 IPL season, providing crucial bench support in every match. Following that season he moved onto Punjab Kings and established himself as a regular player from 2014-2018 – eventually earning him an India call-up as an alternative to Ravindra Jadeja for an ODI series against Bangladesh.
He employs big hands, higher release points, and open-chested action to make it difficult for batsmen to play shots against him. Furthermore, his slingy action forces batsmen to watch the ball half a second longer which reduces their ability to score quickly. Furthermore, he exploits the width of the crease by changing delivery-points, speeds, and trajectory as part of his strategy.
Axar made his mark against England in the 2021 Test series, taking five wickets in each match and helping Delhi Capitals make it into both of their previous IPL seasons’ playoffs with his economical spin bowling. His success with Delhi Capitals can be seen through their success both domestically and in International Premier League (IPL) tournaments.
