Parvathy Thiruvothu is one of the most respected actors in Malayalam cinema. She has won multiple accolades for her roles in films like Take Off, Bangalore Days, Ennu Ninte Moideen and Charlie. Additionally, she has appeared in Tamil films like Andhar Bahar as well as Kannada movies such as Milana and Prithvi.
She is a Bharatnatyam dancer and trained singer. The actress is well known for her haunting performances, earning many awards along the way, including Best Actress at International Film Festival of India in 2008.
Ullozhukku has made waves since its trailer release on Thursday, creating much anticipation and interest amongst audiences. Set against the flood-hit Kuttanad region, its first teaser focuses on Parvathy Thiruvothu and Urvashi in lead roles with mystery surrounding their relationship as mother-in-law and daughter-in-law respectively.
Christo Tomy, best known for helming the true-crime documentary Curry and Cyanide on the Koodathayi Cyanide murder case, has directed this thriller film under Ronnie Screwvala and Honey Trehan’s RSVP and MacGuffin Pictures banners, scheduled to release June 21. The poster depicts Parvathy and Urvashi standing knee deep in water indicating an engaging narrative, with its tagline of “Lies will drown, secrets will surface”. This film will release on June 21, and its screenplay was written by Christo Tomy who won first prize of Rs 25 lakh at Cinesta India screenplay competition 2018. Additionally, Sushin Shyam composed its music while Jayadevan Chakkadath provided its sync sound services – it promises to make an impression when it hits theatres next month.

Christo Tomy, known for his critically-acclaimed 2023 Netflix documentary Curry & Cyanide: The Jolly Joseph Case, directs this film. RSVP/MacGuffin Pictures’ Ronnie Screwvala, Honey Trehan and Abhishek Chaubey have produced it together with co-producer Sanjeev Kumar Nair of Reverie Entertainment as co-producers; cinematography was handled by Bramayugam star Shehnad Jalal while editing was overseen by Kiran Das while Sushin Shyam provided musical composition duties as composer for this project.
