Poco M6 4G
Poco M6 4G, Xiaomi’s sub-brand Poco’s latest offering, boasts an efficient processor and large display. At an outstanding value for your money, this phone performed very well in our benchmark tests as it easily ran current games such as PUBG Mobile without issue.
Poco announced on June 11 the release of their new smartphone with two variants starting at $129 and $149.
Poco M6 4G Dual-lens camera
The Poco M6 4G features a dual camera system consisting of both wide-angle and telephoto lenses to provide an expansive field of view and zoom function. The latter lens also delivers superior image clarity at zoom levels while producing shallow depth-of-field effects to add bokeh effects in your photos. Furthermore, PDAF autofocus technology speeds up and ensures more precise focussing for faster photo shooting experiences.
The main 64MP rear camera captures decent photos under good lighting conditions, with fine details and natural hues. Unfortunately, photos taken at 2x zoom were less impressive; they had heavy sharpening applied and appeared somewhat soft. Furthermore, the 8MP ultrawide camera failed to impress due to a subpar dynamic range that often overexposes shots.
Poco M6 features not only dual cameras but also an array of connectivity features. Bluetooth 5.2 ensures fast data transfers and improved audio quality while it comes equipped with a headphone jack, infrared blaster, storage card slot for microSD expansion and even Hybrid Dual SIM for easy management of both personal and professional contacts. Additionally, the Poco M6 Pro stands out with its 6.67-inch Flow AMOLED display which delivers vibrant colors for an enjoyable user experience as well as its Hybrid Dual SIM capability which provides flexibility to manage both personal and professional contacts effectively.
Poco M6 4G AMOLED display
The Poco M6 4G boasts an AMOLED display that boasts outstanding brightness and contrast. With its fast response rate and wide viewing angle, images and text appear quickly onscreen. Furthermore, its excellent brightness/contrast combination enables it to function flawlessly even under bright or dim conditions.
Displays with superior color accuracy and more comfortable on-eye viewing experience are an excellent choice for mobile gamers and movie-watching. Their rapid response times mean that no detail of your favorite films or videos will go unseen!
It features a 6.67-inch display with 120Hz refresh rate, powered by the Helio G99 Ultra chipset, supporting up to 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage. Furthermore, its 5,000mAh battery offers excellent runtimes; in our realistic WiFi web surfing test it lasted more than 14 hours!
AMOLED displays are water-resistant and feature wet touch features for convenient gaming while on the move. Higher frequency PWM dimming eliminates flicker, providing a smooth gaming experience without strain on your eyes. In addition, TUV Rheinland certification ensures your smartphone boasts circadian friendly display technologies which may help improve sleep quality by decreasing light impact on melatonin secretion.
Poco M6 4G Powerful hardware
Although priced in the budget category, the Poco M6 4G packs powerful hardware. Constructed from plastic for maximum durability, its glossy back design attracts fingerprints and smudges easily but can be cleaned using a cloth wipe. IP54 certification protects it against dust particles as well as water splashes; slim bezels make it comfortable to hold in hand but it may be slippery at times.
Xiaomi has made camera technology one of its main draws with their M6 Pro smartphone by including an impressive 108MP pro-grade snapper compared to just 12 MP on its direct predecessor model. Furthermore, this smartphone has an AMOLED Dot Display screen boasting 120Hz refresh rate and wide viewing angles for even better user experiences.
The M6 Pro’s ARM Mali-G57 MP 2 graphics unit produces outstanding benchmark test results and can run popular games such as PUBG Mobile smoothly. Furthermore, real world usage tests revealed outstanding performance with enough power available to support a full day of content consumption. Furthermore, its UFS 2.2 storage adheres to fast transfer rates; and comes equipped with Widevine L1 certification for streaming HD videos via OTT platforms.
Poco M6 4G Fast charging
The Poco M6 4G comes equipped with a powerful 5,000 mAh battery and offers fast charging via a 67W charger, marking an improvement from Xiaomi’s prior models that used Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 chipsets that only supported 20W charging. Furthermore, this phone features MediaTek G99 Ultra chipsets which should make its operation even more energy-efficient than previous generations of phones from Xiaomi. Our tests indicated an excellent battery life; our Active Use Score being higher than both Poco C65 and Poco F5 models. Our tests demonstrated an Active Use Score that outclassed both models from Xiaomi.
This phone will feature a 6.79-inch Full HD+ POLED display with 90Hz refresh rate and triple TUV Rheinland certification, running Android 14 on a MediaTek Helio G99 Ultra SoC and offering three storage configurations of 6GB + 128GB, 8GB + 256GB, and 12GB + 512GB respectively. Pricing will start from $129 for Early Bird variant and $151 for regular version respectively.
The smartphone weighs only 18.9 mm in thickness. Additionally, its thin yet sturdy plastic frame and back allow it to bend without much difficulty, providing great gaming performance with its low response times and bright display brightness. Finally, there’s also an effective fingerprint sensor and headphone jack available.
