Kalki 2898 AD (formerly Project K) has been captivating viewers ever since its creation, keeping fans thrilled with each new update. Recently they unveiled Bhairava’s sidekick known as ‘Bujji’ from mythology-inspired sci-fi drama.
Prabhas will co-star alongside Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan and Deepika Padukone in Nag Ashwin’s directed and produced under Aswani Dutt’s Vyjayanthi Movies banner.

Nag Ashwin’s forthcoming sci-fi dystopian film Kalki 2898 AD will mark India’s debut sci-fi dystopian flick. Starring Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan, and Amitabh Bachchan as leads, Kalki 2898 AD has an expansive use of visual effects (VFX).
Posters and teasers for this film have already created significant excitement among fans, while its trailer should soon hit the web. Set for release on May 9, multiple languages of this multilingual production led by composer Santhosh Narayanan and cinematographer Djordje Stojiljkovic as part of Vyjayanthi Movies will see its premiere screenings.
Nag Ashwin has been working in the film industry for more than a decade and made his directorial debut with 2015’s Yevade Subramanyam. Since then he has collaborated with some of the most iconic figures from Telugu and Tamil cinema such as Nani, Vijay Deverakonda, Malavika Nair – as well as writing several movies such as Leader.
Big B was especially complimentary of director Nag Ashwin and Bujji from Blade Runner 2049 in his blog. Bujji serves as a companion for Bhairava, an ailing bounty hunter who seems to owe everyone money. Big B compared it to Dune because it also spans multiple times; Ashwin responded that any place where there’s sand will look similar and added that his goal was to create worlds similar to those found in Blade Runner.

Prabhas will star in Kalki 2898 AD, an upcoming science-fiction fantasy drama directed by Nag Ashwin that draws upon Hindu mythology and Lord Vishnu’s final incarnation during the Kali Yuga. Already the posters and trailer have generated immense anticipation among fans; other actors featured include Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan and Disha Patani; plus there is a captivating prelude called Bujji & Bhairava which recently premiered on Prime Video!

Kalki 2898 AD’s makers are meeting with distributors to determine an ideal release date for Kalki 2898 AD. Their plan is to release it simultaneously in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi and Malayalam – most likely during either July’s last or third week in August – under Aswini Dutt’s Vyjayanthi Movies banner.

After the success of Salaar, all eyes are now focused on Prabhas’ sci-fi film Kalki 2898 AD. A unique blend of ancient mythology and futuristic dystopian society, Kalki 2898 AD promises to amaze audiences. Unfortunately, its budget has caused controversy among fans; however, Prabhas has attempted to justify it by explaining that this movie will appeal to international audiences.
Project K has an astonishing production budget of Rs 600 crore and features Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone and Dulquer Salmaan in its cast; directed by Nag Ashwin with music composed by Santhosh Narayanan; cinematography is by Djordje Stojiljkovic while production design by Nitin Zihani Choudhary and editing done by Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao.
On 27 June, this film is set for release in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada and it promises to be a blockbuster film despite competition from Bollywood releases like Bad Boys For Life and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. According to reports, Anil Thadani will pay an astounding 200 crore for South Indian theatrical rights of this movie.
