Nazriya Nazim ‘Raja Rani’
Nayanthara made her return to cinema following a hiatus through director Atlee’s gangster drama ‘Raja Rani’ directed by Atlee. This blockbuster film features Jai and Sathyaraj in its cast as leads with an outstanding technical team including music director GV Prakash as part of its crew.
This movie chronicles an unlikely romance between an ambitious hustler and hearing-impaired girl named Vasu (Nazriya). After John (John Vaccaro) is arrested and accused of killing a cop, Vasu turns to her bodyguard Velu (Velu Nazriya). However, Velu refuses to meet Vasu’s unusual requests, leading them down a path toward irreconcilable disagreement and ultimately creating tension within their friendship.
Nazriya made waves in Malayalam cinema with her stellar performances as medical student Pooja in Ohm Shanthi Oshaana (2014) and as the independent-minded Divya from Bangalore Days (2015); for which she received a Filmfare South nomination.
She then went on to star in two additional Malayalam films before marrying Fahadh Faasil. With her exuberant screen presence and charming demeanor, the actress won many fans. Now, she is eagerly awaiting the release of upcoming movie Aavesham; recently on holiday with Fahadh she posed in front of Casa Mila designed by architect Antoni Gaudi; plus Nani is expected to work alongside Sudha Kongara on several Tamil projects.

Nayanthara’s performance in Bangalore Days remains one of the more underrated films of her career. Following it, the actress went on to appear in several more movies before marrying co-actor Fahadh Faasil and taking an extended four-year break from acting – but later returned with Anjali Menon’s Koode, which featured both Prithviraj Sukumaran and Parvathy TK prominently as key roles.
