Kalki 2898 AD Trailer | The Story
Kalki 2898 AD is the most expensive Indian film ever made and its trailer promises an epic sci-fi drama with lots of action and adventure. Directed by Nag Ashwin (Mahanati), this futuristic fantasy blends Indian mythology with sci-fi for a tale of triumphant, courageous bravery and rebirth.
The three-minute video transports viewers into a dystopian future where food and water resources are limited, the wealthy living in an exclusive complex known as Kashi while poor people fight to stay alive – similar to Fritz Lang’s Metropolis or Denis Villeneuve’s Alita: Battle Angel (2019 release).
Kalki (Prabhas), is believed to be Lord Vishnu’s 10th avatar and will come during an apocalyptic period known as Kali Yuga to purge evil high society and establish a new order. As seen in Dune, this messianic figure (Paul Atreides in Dune) is revered and feared by Complex’s elites.
The trailer of “Bandit Queen” showcases plenty of heavy VFX and suspenseful scenes that keep audiences on edge, such as Amitabh Bachchan (Ashwatthama), who plays Deepika Padukone’s unborn child Kalki – believed to be named by Deepika herself – from harm. Deepika shows her baby bump in one shot which will no doubt excite audiences.Kalki 2898 AD Trailer
