While pursuing his B.Tech degree at IIT Kharagpur, Jitendra Kumar had the opportunity to explore the art of acting and refine his talents. He actively participated in various drama activities during his college years, culminating in a significant role in a play directed by his senior and friend Vishwapati Sarkar in his final year.
While performing street plays and shows at IIT Kharagpur, he crossed paths with ‘TVF’. Jitendra Kumar connected with IMF, the production house which was gaining popularity on YouTube at the time. Through Vishwapati Sarkar’s referral, Jitendra Kumar joined a project at TVF. Prior to this, he had experience working at a private company.

Following his graduation from IIT Kharagpur, Jitendra faced a brief period of unemployment that lasted around three months. He eventually landed a job at a Japanese construction firm in Bengaluru. It was during this time that Vishwapati Sarkar approached him with an opportunity to work on a project with TVF. Jitendra Kumar, who would later become known as ‘Munna Jazbati’, took on the role of an intern in the series. The show’s release marked a turning point in Jitendra’s career, as he began to gain widespread recognition and acclaim in the acting world. He went on to play a diverse range of characters in various TVF productions, including “Take Conversations with Dad”, “A Day With” series, Kota Factory, and the TVF Bachelor series, each garnering over a million views. Kota Factory proved to be a massive success, solidifying his reputation as a talented actor. Beyond his work with TVF, Kumar has also made notable appearances in comedy sketches, films, and web series, further showcasing his versatility as a performer.
Jitendra Kumar’s claim to fame lies in his portrayal of several memorable characters, including the disgruntled office worker ‘Jitendra Maheshwari’ in TVF Pitchers, the bewildered bridegroom ‘Gittu’ in Permanent Roommates, and the iconic ‘Jeetu Bhaiya’ from Kota Factory.
