Zimbabwe has assembled an outstanding balance between youth and experience in its squad, led by 38-year old captain Sikandar Raza and all-rounders Faraz Akram, Brian Bennett, Johnathan Campbell, Tendai Chatara, Wessly Madhevere, Wellington Masakadza, Milton Shumba and Richard Ngarava – experienced lower order hitters who can also play key roles as strike bowler Tinashe Kamunhukamwe strikes against spin bowling while Clive Madande keeps wicket and fast bowlers Blessing Muzarabani Wessly Munyonga and Brandon Mavuta create a formidable attack.

Shubman Gill leads an Indian squad featuring both newcomers and established stars. Riyan Parag and Abhishek Sharma earned their debut call-ups following impressive IPL performances, while young Nitish Reddy and Dhruv Jurel have been named as backup players ahead of a five T20 International series against Zimbabwe that starts later this month.

Shubman Gill has chosen a much younger squad compared to that which won the ICC T20 World Cup, due in large part to several senior players being rested for their series against Zimbabwe, and some expected back for use during South Africa tour.
